Tuesday 4th/5th July. Beaugency (Between Blois and Orleans).Camping Val de Flux. Over the bridge towards Lailly-en-Val. Large relaxed site with our pitch on the bank of the Loire. Many large pitches with shade. Tiny shop. No restaurant. Many restaurants in town (15 minute walk over the bridge).
Romorantin-Lanthenay, A85, A71 past Vierzon, Bourges, Jn 9 to Vallon-en-Sully, bison farm 129 miles.
Thursday 6th July. Tatanaka Bison farm France Passion.Very peaceful farm. Did not see bison and the walk to see them was prohibited in sandals as they had killed Vipers that morning. Small ‘bison’ shop. Very friendly.
Near Monlucon to motorways E62 and A71 and A75, past Clermont-Ferrand and Issoire, Brioude, Vielle-Brioude. Motorway not busy and a beautiful drive. 121 miles.
Friday 7th July. Vielle-Brioude. La Bageasse. Very nice site. Shaded. Good restaurant and small pool. By a river. Canoes could be rented.
Brioude, past Le Puy-en-Velay, Pradelles, Langogne, La Bastide-Puylaurent. 78 miles.
Saturday 8th July. L’Allier Camping. Good. Bar/restaurant. Shady pitch by river. Boy trout fishing.
La Grande Combe, Ales, Crespian. 73 miles.
Sunday 9th July. Crespian. Mas de Reilhe Camping. North of Sommieres. Restaurant, pool. (Eng couple needing help with water. Uphill to restaurant).

Monday 10/11/12th July. Palavas-les-Flots. Camping St Maurice,. Hugh arrived by taxi at 4.00 on 10th. Between lagoon (nothing of interest) and the sea. Cross the road to reach a good beach. Poorly organised. They emailed confirming that we were booked but on arrival said “no money, no reservation”. Pitches usually had some shade and were medium size. Gave us a pitch opposite the open air restaurant. This was run separately from camp management and had noisy ‘animations ’ every night from 9.30 to midnight, followed by noisy dispersal. Their stated policy was ‘Quiet after 10 and silence after 12.0! The restaurant was good, with specials most evenings.

Thursday 13/14/15th July. Le Val de L’Arre, Le Vigan. A favourite site. Big shady pitches by the river. Excellent snack bar /small restaurant. Good small pool. Kind friendly owners.

Sunday 16th July. Domain Carriere Audier. France Passion site. Beneath olive trees. Nice walk up to the village but very hot. Friendly owner Laurence Audier. Bought some wine.

Monday 17/18/19th July. Tuchan. Camping La Peiriere. Excellent friendly site with small pool and very good restaurant. It is now open to the public and is more expensive.

Thursaday 20/21/22nd July. Serignan Plages. Camping Le Beausejours. Large friendly site. Good shady pitches. Direct access to beach. Smal pool. Excellent restaurant.
Serignan, past Agde, Sete, Frontignan, Villeneuve, Palavas -les-Flots. 53 miles.
Monday 24/25th July. Palavas-les-Flots. Camping St. Maurice. (see above). Hugh’s flight was cancelled then delayed so we stayed exra night. Hugh flew home.
Lattes, Juvignac, A750, A75, past Lodeve and Millau, Severac d’Aveyron, towards Rodez, Recoules Previnquieres. 104 miles.Wednesday 26th July. Recoules Previnquieres. Camping le Plo. Small nice site near intersting village. Shady pitch. Tiny noisy covered pool. Simple snack bar.restaurant.
Recoules, Laissac Severac l’Eglise, Espalion, Aurillac, Mauriac, Moussages, Trizac. Beautiful excellent drive. 118 miles.
Thursday 27/28th July. Trizac. Municipal site. Camping Le Pioulat. Favourite site up on the Trizac Plateau in the Auvergnes. Large shady pitches. Lake for swimming. Wonderful walks. Restaurants in interesting village but only open at lunch time. Excellent epicerie.
