In April I went for a few days to Istanbul with my friend Leigh Felton, staying in an inexpensive hotel in the old town overlooking the Bophorous.
This panorama [from Wikipedia] is taken from the Asian side. The main buildings, with spires or minarets, are the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque [near out hotel] and the Süleymaniye Mosque. The Galata bridge is on right of picture.
