SNAPSHOTS OF THE BIRDS OF TIRUPATI

LINKS (This Website):      INDIA (pictures)         INDIA (general)      MY PICTURES

I call my pictures ‘snapshots’ to contrast with the superb pictures published elsewhere [Click for links]. These were taken while walking around Tirupati from the Sri Venkateswara University guesthouse. This is about 3km from the town on the Bangalore road near the level crossing. Opposite the guesthouse towards the Tirumula Hills is a large area with a large variety of trees and scrubland and few University and Agriculture College buildings. All other walks were in the Dairy farm and surrounding fields extending around the small village of Thumulagunta. The pictures were taken between the middle of November and the middle of February in the years 2003 and 2013.

My cameras improved over the years. First was a Fuji Finepix 6900 with an added zoom lens [6Mp; giving 10x]; then Finepix 9600 [10Mp; 10.5 x zoom]; then Canon PowerShot SX10IS [10Mp; 20x zoom]. From 2012 I have used a Canon Powershot SX40S [12Mp, 35x Zoom and CMOS detector]
