Thumulagunta   February 2004

For other 2004 pictures, Click here       For all other India pics Click here
Thumulagunta is the village I have known for many years. I came to know it better when I became friends with Balaji and Venkataramana. Some of these pictures have young children in them who became good friends in future years. The village of Upparapalle is very near
Ploughing with oxen near Thumulagunta and Uparapalle
South-East of Thumulagunta
Getting in the last few furrows before the sun sets

My friend Venkataramana with friend (?). Venkat and Balaji were some of my first friends in Thumulagunta.

This is the edge of the village leading to the path to the main Thumulagunta village.

Years later I learned that this part of Thumulagunta is also called Mallipalle or Harijanwada

Venkat's parents (left)
Balaji and Venkat. Boy in front is my future friend Moounish
Balaji may be holding Bobby (?), brother of Mounish. Cannot remember name of happy lady
I wish i had a record of the names of the girls. Boy in front left may be Jogesh
Venkat holding Mounish, with ???
Do not have names for these but i saw them growing up in future years
Balaji with the village comedian
Only one more photo sir
Traditional serious pose. I assume the silver ankle things are decorative and not restraints
I think this is the edge of Upparupalle
By now i had learned how to get a smile
It is possible the boy on the left is my future friend Barath
This is for road building but this is a better use
I was aiming to get a picture of the night chickens in Thumulagunta but got some friends instead
