We spent a week in camper van in the North. On the way we called to visit David and Ruth Ingleby near Huddersfield and then on to Nigel Chandler in Duddo near Berwick on Tweed near the Scottish border, visiting the coast near Bamburgh on the way. We called in to look at the small church in Lowick where some of Liz's ancestors and relations are buried and where there are stained glass windows commemorating them. After Luddo we went South by way of Rothbury, Cambo, Haydon Bridge, to Widdybank Fell next to Cow Green reservoir near the top of Teeesdale, for a wet windy night camping wild. Then South by way of Middleton in Teesdale, Brough, Thwaite, Hawes, Staianforth, Malham Tarn to the village of Malham in the Yourkshire Dales where we camped in a small farm site. Then south past Clitheroe to M6, A53, past Shrewsbury, A488, Knighton to Builth Wells to camp and have fish and chips. Then South past Brecon, Merthyr to Cowbridge to camp outside house of Andy and Lizzie to attend a concert in the Cowbridge Music Festival |
